About this Event
1050 W. Santa Gertrudis Ave, Kingsville, TX 78363
The Academic Achievement Ceremony was established in fall 2001 to recognize Texas A&M University-Kingsville’s outstanding graduates. These students have demonstrated dedication, commitment, and perseverance in their academic studies. As they graduate and prepare to leave Texas A&M-Kingsville, we honor and celebrate this academic achievement.
Today we recognize the students who have met the Grade Point Average (GPA) and required 45 hours of Texas A&M-Kingsville course work to be eligible for the honors medals awarded by this university. Cum Laude (Honors) have a GPA of 3.4 or higher, but less than 3.6; Magna Cum Laude (High Honors) have a GPA of 3.6 or higher, but less than 3.8; and Summa Cum Laude (Highest Honors) have a GPA of 3.8 or higher.
We also will recognize those graduating from the Honors College. They will receive stoles for completing requirements to graduate from the Honors College. These requirements include maintaining a 3.25 GPA, successfully completing Honors course work, and researching and presenting a senior project.
The medals for the Student Government Association’s Undergraduate and Graduate Distinguished Student Awards will be presented at the Academic Achievement Ceremony. Additional acknowledgments of the Distinguished Student Awards will take place at the commencement ceremonies.
